Transformers: The Movie / The Matrix
Simple question: What is your favorite movie?
This question has two distinct answers as there are two films that made a significant impact on me at
different times in my life. The first was when I was 7, the original animated Transformers movie. Seeing
some of my favorite fictional characters die on screen at that age cemented a sense of mortality and
fatalism in my fragile, child, psyche. Also, the soundtrack is amazing. I can recite every line to this film,
including the songs.
The second film, obviously, is The Matrix. I was at the premiere in NYC since I was DJing an afterparty for
the release. I was blown away by this film. As with a lot of people I knew, it was an amazing justification
of cyber-punk culture. The first time any of all those influences were really brought to life on the big
screen. Sadly, the sequels lost the sense of relation the first had for people like me and just became
special effects showcases. Like Transformers, I can recite this film verbatim.

I'm not really a movie buff, per se, so some questionable films will undoubtably end up on this list.
I love science fiction, cyber-punk, action (especially 80's/90's), martial arts... the general gamut
of classic nerd/boy movies. I grew up on a steady diet of Van Damme, Stalone, Segal, Schwarzenegger,
Chan, Rothrock, etc. I love animation, especially from the 80's, so movies made from the shows at the
time are always way up on my list. Comic book movies and westerns are way up there too.

Hackers
I don't care what anyone says about this movie, I could watch it a hundred times in a row
and still want to see it again. It's my "go-to" film when I can't decide what to watch. I know
it line for line and I love it.

The Incredibles
The greatest superhero movie ever made, period. I'm a Pixar fan (who isn't?) but this movie
is a league apart. I have a hard time even describing just how good it is.

District B13
Holy crap. This is one of the few movies that makes me sad I didn't stick to gymnastics when I was a kid.
All I can do is sit and stare in a state of disbelief for a lot of this movie. No matter how many times
I see it I'm always awestruck. I can't wait fr the sequel.

R.A.D.
I've always been pretty good on a bike, but this movie made me want to get really good. To me, it's a staple
80's movie. It also made me hate Mongoose bicycles. Heh.

TRON
A lot of people I talk feel that Tron doesn't hold up well when watched now-a-days, but I feel that it does.
It is one of the earliest science fiction films I can remember seeing and is probably subliminally responsible
for my intense love of computers and video games.

Drunken Master 2
1. I love martial arts movies.
2. I love Jackie Chan.
Therefor: I love this movie. Drunken Master 2 is like the Citizen Kane of fighting films.

That's enough for now. There's a lot more movies that belong here, I'll add them all as I get the time.
